Every child deserves the best start in life: We need a Cabinet Minister for Children

UK outreach project The Children’s Alliance has reached 5000 signatures in its online petition calling for a Cabinet Minister for Children and Young People.

Created by water babies (https://www.waterbabies.co.uk/), The Children’s Alliance has the support of over 100 organisations and partners. Babycup is proud to be a supporter of this great initiative.

Every child deserves a voice

The Children’s Alliance is working to create better starts and brighter futures for children in the UK. This is in alignment with Babycup’s ethos that every child deserves a healthy start in life.

The alliance is calling for a cabinet minister to be responsible for the health and wellbeing of children and young people and believes such an appointment should be agreed without delay and must recognise that the first 1001 days of a child’s life impacts their physical and mental wellbeing for life.

Giving children the best start in life

Countless children are facing issues making it difficult for them to live their lives to their fullest potential. Many are affected by challenges such as a lack of physical activity, mental health issues, or socio-economic and cultural inequalities. As adults, we can make a difference, but many people don’t realise how much a child’s first five years will impact their physical and mental wellbeing for life. The Children's Alliance wants to change that.
